Exotic pets
Most people have got cat or dog pets, but others want
something more exotic.
The expression exotic animal means “unusual and interesting
animal, because it comes from a different country”.
Some exotic animals, such as guinea pigs or hamsters, have
already been domesticated, while others are still wild.
Having an exotic animal can be cool, but also very dangerous
because of their “nature” or because they can give us
diseases. Snakes can crush or poison, big felines can bite
seriously, and wild birds can scratch badly. Small exotic
animals look like innocent and harmless, turtles for example,
but they can carry very dangerous infections.
So, what can we do? It is important to know everything about
our pet, how to take care of it, and protect our and its health.
