Worksheet 4
Egypt and the Nile
1 Read the information about the Geography of Egypt and the course of the Nile River.
Egypt is on the African continent.
Egypt is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to
the north, Israel to the north-east, the Gulf of
Aqaba to the east, the Red Sea to the east and
south, Sudan to the south and Libya to the west.
Egypt is crossed by the Nile, the longest river in
Africa. It’s also the longest river in the world!
This is even because it is made up of two rivers:
the White Nile and the Blue Nile.
The Nile flows south to north, beginning in the mountains in the south, through
the desert plain, and ending 6 671 kilometres later at the Mediterranean Sea,
with a large, fan shaped, marshy land delta.
This very large delta is around 160 kilometres in length and spreads out over
240 kilometres of coastline.
2 Let’s have some fun! Find and circle all of the words as shown in the example.
