Dear diary,

I’m so excited today!
I’m on holiday in Pompeii, a trading and commercial centre and a very

nice touristic village on the Bay of Naples, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius.
My family and I live in Rome, but we are here to participate in the

“Vulcanalia”, the annual festival that we, the Roman people, hold to
honour Vulcan, the god of fire.

I like Vulcan very much, so I want to write and draw the story of his life
for you, dear diary.
